March 2008
Derek Franklin, Health Advisor and Volunteer Co ordinator from the Father Ray Foundation, Pattaya, stayed 4 days to assist the office staff in finalizing the information for the sponsorship program run by Pattaya Orphanage Trust (POT). This will be of great help with securing funds to meet the basic needs of the children.
Ben and Laurie Bollich visited from the Sultanate of Oman where they are living, for their short holiday break. They are both well known to the children and staff, and have been visiting regularly since 2003. Among other activities they made playdough with the kids and Laurie a physiotherapist helped with Man U’s walking and exercise routine and they generally got down and dirty with the kids. They will be missed until their next visit.
Debbie Willis from the UK who visited in November 2006 with a group of 60 BUPA employees and did such a great job on the painting and refreshment of the children’s houses at Sarnelli House, St Patrick’s, Our Lady of Refuge, Nazareth House and House of Hope, and has returned in her holidays to spend 3 weeks with the children. She arrived on 27 th March, and her colleague Andy Eadsforth and friend Linsey Pluckrose arrived on the 30 th March and will be a great help to the staff of Sarnelli House in keeping the children occupied and well loved in the holidays.

A more permanent visitor arrived in the shape of a miniature rabbit. It was well received by the kids who kept constant vigil outside the cage observing every movement and generally making the rabbit feel right at home! Unfortunately on one of the outings outside the cage, the rabbit made a meal for a roving dog. Not to be deterred with the pet experiment, there are now 3 rabbits and a squirrel happily munching away in a custom built kid and dog proof cage.
